FAQ

AIlingo offers enhanced AI translations. Within a very short time, even large volumes of text are processed by our AI solutions—translation engines based on neural networks (NMT, Neural Machine Translation). We develop these tools with specific industries in mind. Such domain-specific engines yield far better results than widely available universal engines like Google Translate or Microsoft Translator. Why? Because they are trained on high-quality bilingual corpora from our professional human translations, tailored to the source text category. If you already have bilingual texts that you believe represent correct translations, we can incorporate them into the results to make the output even more closely aligned with your company and industry language. Additionally, we can provide translations that adhere to specific terminology by integrating a glossary with your preferred translations of key terms.

The quality of the source material directly influences the result—the higher the quality of the source, the better the translated output. And our resources are impressive—for instance, our NMT engine designed for technical texts is trained on corpora containing over 160 million translated words from fields such as automation, automotive, construction, electrical engineering, energy, machinery, consumer electronics, IT, communication technologies, and many more.

Neural network-based engines can now produce stylistically fluent texts. However, this fluency can be misleading. A post-editor must be alert at all times to quickly identify and correct critical errors so that the translated text meets your expectations. Below is a list of typical errors that may occur in raw machine translations. Be sure to review it, especially if you plan to edit the text yourself. Check out our post-editing offer available in PREMIUM, STANDARD, and BASIC service options.

What we call “editing” (basic or full) is actually post-editing, a service defined by the ISO 18587:2017. Below are the main characteristics of its full and basic versions. Learn how they differ, and choose the service that best suits your needs.

Basic editing (post-editing), also known as Light Machine Translation Post-Editing (Light MTPE)

Need/Problem

You are translating texts for your own use. You simply want to understand the content of a foreign document or enable a non-Polish-speaking employee to understand Polish texts. However, you want professionals to handle the translation because you don’t want to paste translations into Google Translate. You also want to ensure confidentiality, keeping your data out of global databases.

You’re translating documents for internal use and want the translated files to maintain a similar graphic layout.

Solution

High-quality MT engines + basic editing (Light MTPE)

We make only the necessary corrections to the MT output to ensure the translation is understandable and reasonably grammatically correct:

* “Hallucinations” from the MT engine can result from, among other things, a misinterpretation of the text category. Here is an example of source text in German (from the article “Hallucinations in Large Multilingual Translation Models,” accessed July 2023):

Source text: Scharf bewacht – der Parteitag der Tories

Correct translation: Under tight security – the Tory party conference

NMT hallucination—incorrect machine translation: Toughened Laminated Safety Glass – manufacturer, factory

Full editing (post-editing), or Full Machine Translation Post-Editing

Need/Problem

You’re looking for a budget-friendly solution but want more than what basic post-editing offers—you’d like a language expert to spend more time ensuring accuracy, terminological consistency, and stylistic quality of the translation (so the style aligns better with the subject matter).

Solution

High-quality MT engines + full post-editing (Full MTPE)

We handle all Light MTPE tasks and additionally:

Should you go for basic post-editing with the BASIC service or full post-editing with the STANDARD service?
Or perhaps the complete package with full independent review—PREMIUM—for creating unique, highly effective, top-quality content? Deciding between these options can be challenging. So, if you’re still unsure which is best for your needs, even after reading the descriptions in the SERVICES section, get in touch—we’ll discuss your needs and advise you on the best solution.

Of course! When submitting a text that contains personal, sensitive, or confidential data for translation, you can rest assured that your information is safe and will not be accessed or used by unauthorized parties.

You provide us with access to the data in your file when you send it for an appraising on ailingo.eu. The file is then stored solely on our physical servers located in Poland. It is processed automatically to immediately display the translation cost to you. If you do not place an order and you close the session (browser window), the file is immediately deleted, and we no longer have access to it. When you commission us to do the translation, we securely process your data and files. First, we use automated translation engines, and then, our proprietary AI solution for automatic pre-editing (correction) of the target text. We have signed appropriate agreements with the providers of these services, ensuring that our Partners do not use your data for purposes other than translation and do not share them with third parties. (This is different from publicly accessible translation solutions, which do not offer this level of security.) Your file is then handled by translators and reviewers, who ensure the accurate translation of the entire text. These experts are also obligated to maintain the confidentiality of all data they access during the translation process—a requirement guaranteed by the contracts we sign with them.
